1. How do the stair calculators work? Our stair wizards are designed for single-step calculations. Just enter the total rise from floor to floor and tap “=”. The app instantly calculates the required number of risers to stay under the code-specific maximum height (7 ¾” for Residential or 7 ⅝” for Commercial) and gives you the precise, actual riser height to use for your stringer layout.
